Privacy Policy
This policy explains what PilottApp collects, why we collect it, and how we use it on the website and the Android / iOS apps.
Last updated: 3 August 2026Who we are
PilottApp (“we”, “us”) is a multiplayer Pilotta card game available at https://pilottapp.net and through companion mobile apps that open the same service in a WebView. Contact: support@pilottapp.net.
What this covers
This policy applies to the PilottApp website and the PilottApp mobile applications (Android and iOS). The mobile apps are shells around the same online service; account and gameplay data are handled by the servers behind pilottapp.net.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use PilottApp, we may process:
Account data — email address, password (stored as a secure hash), display nickname, and related Identity fields needed to sign you in.
Sign-in with Google — if you choose Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information Google provides for authentication (typically email and a stable account identifier), subject to Google’s privacy policy.
Gameplay data — games you create or join, seats, invitations, and in-game activity needed to run matches and show stats.
Emails we send — verification links and game invitations (which may include the inviter’s nickname and email).
Cookies and similar storage — authentication cookies, a theme preference cookie, and a cookie-consent flag. On mobile we may also keep theme preference and session-related tokens on the device so the app can restore your session and appearance.
Technical / operational logs — server logs, diagnostics, and OpenTelemetry traces/metrics/logs used to operate, secure, and improve the service (for example errors, performance, and request metadata).
What we do not collect
PilottApp does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location. The Android app uses network access only (internet and network state). We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs or advertising IDs in the app.
How we use information
Provide accounts, authentication, and multiplayer gameplay.
Send verification and invitation emails you request or that are required for the service.
Remember preferences such as light/dark theme.
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues.
Improve reliability and performance of the service.
Legal bases (where applicable)
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process data to perform the contract of providing the game service, based on your consent where required (for example certain cookies), and for legitimate interests such as securing and operating the platform.
Sharing
We share data only as needed to run PilottApp:
Other players — nicknames and in-game activity are visible to players at your table; invitations may show your nickname/email to invitees.
Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery, messaging, and observability infrastructure that process data on our behalf.
Google — if you use Google sign-in, authentication is handled with Google under Google’s terms and privacy policy.
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Retention
We keep account and gameplay records while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You may contact us to request deletion of your account data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to an online game service, including hashed passwords, HTTPS where configured, and cookie-based session authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
PilottApp is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Your choices
You can use email/password or Google sign-in.
You can change theme preferences in the app.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by emailing support@pilottapp.net.
You can stop using the service and uninstall the mobile app at any time.
International users
PilottApp may be hosted and processed in locations different from where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of PilottApp after an update means you accept the revised policy.
